FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 14, 2014 – Sacramento, CA. The work of internationally acclaimed artist Deacon Lawrence Klimecki is showcased in the national exhibit “God’s Love Portrayed in Art” sponsored by the Contemporary Religious Artists Association.
Two of Deacon Lawrence’s original works, “Lily of the Mohawks,” and “Heart Aflame” are featured in the exhibit. “Lily of the Mohawks,” an elegantly noble portrait of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, is also spotlighted on the cover of the exhibit program. Klimecki’s artistic style blends traditional themes and symbolism with a contemporary graphic flare. The exhibit runs through October 1, 2014 at the Savior Pastoral Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
“God’s love for us is clearly revealed through the witness of His saints,” Klimecki states. “Though greatly persecuted for her Christian faith, Saint Kateri courageously escaped her abusers and committed the rest of her short life to serving the poor and the elderly.
“Heart Aflame” is a glowing, iconographic styled image of Saint Anthony of Padua, known also as the “Evangelical Doctor.” “Saint Anthony continually preached God’s love and brought many to conversion through his gift for preaching.”
“God’s LovePortrayed in Art” is a unique exhibit in that it focuses on the many art forms produced by clergy, members of religious communities, and seminarians, including visual art, sacred music, and the written word.
Deacon Lawrence is available for live painting demonstrations, speaking engagements, and commissioned work. His art is also available for licensing. More of his work may be viewed at the artists’ website: www.GryphonRampant.com
